Mission

Temple Community Clinic is a resource for wellness, education and health services to qualified residents of Bell County.

Vision

Providing a broad array of patient services while improving access and the patient care experience through innovative community partnerships.

History

Temple Community Clinic was established in 1992 by two local Physicians, Dr. Jeff Jackson and Dr. Gopal Guttikonda through a Leadership Temple Project. During their career they saw many working people who were without proper healthcare due to eligibility or it was simply cost prohibitive. In order to keep this population healthy and in the workforce the clinic was a perfect solution. What all started with volunteer physicians, nurses and community members has evolved over 23 years to become a necessity for those who are struggling to be healthy and productive in today’s society. Our clinic along with the support of Baylor Scott &White, A&M Medical School, UMHB School of Nursing and the City of Temple, we continue to help cover this significant gap in healthcare for our community. Although there has been changes in healthcare, it does not mean EVERYONE is covered. The Market Place for Affordable Healthcare Act provides more opportunities, but unfortunately we are finding that many make too little to qualify for the subsidies or make too much to qualify for Medicaid.
